Welcome to the home of Delwood Sports. We offer PONY baseball and softball for ages 4-14 and a growing soccer program.
We're planning on having as normal of a season as possible while following the guidelines of the City of Austin's Parks and Rec department.
In the past, they've restricted our activities when Austin was in Stage 4 or higher of the COVID guidelines. We've been told that this time, they are not planning to restrict recreation programs.
Please note with registrations: there are no refunds for any reason. If the COVID situation in Austin degrades to the point of us being forced by the City to suspend operations, we are not able to provide credit or refunds.
As true for many of you, COVID hit Delwood financially very hard. The Spring 2020 was our last regular season and the funds we've had on hand have gone to continuing costs (insurance, minimal field maintenance, utilities). We thought we could have a Fall 2020 season, so spent our usual amount to revamp the fields, expecting Fall 2020 registration and sponsorships to cover those costs (as normally happens). With no Fall 2020 season and minimal attempts in 2021, we simply do not have financial flexibility.
We receive no funding from the City, short of no-cost water and electricity, and a couple of emergency mowing events while our lawnmower was out of commission.
Thank you for your understanding and flexibility. Please continue to follow safe practices so we can have a Fall 2021 season!
The following will be shared and discussed at the mandatory volunteer youth baseball/softball meeting. This applies to both home and visiting teams.
Delwood Sportsplex is a private organization that operates the fields and provides youth sports programming under an agreement with the City of Austin. We are dedicated to providing a safe and fun place for the youth of East Austin and beyond to play baseball, softball, soccer, and more.
